How Old Are You?
by H.S. Fritsch
Age is a quality of mind.
If you have left your dreams behind,
If hope is cold,
If you no longer look ahead,
If your ambitions' fires are dead --
Then you are old.
But if from life you take the best,
And if in life you keep the jest,
If love you hold;
No matter how the years go by,
No matter how the birthdays fly--
You are not old.
So, I may be 40 today, but I'm not old!

Wonderful selection, and Happy Birthday!
40 is fab, but not as fab as 42 :)
Happy Birthday, Christine! I'll be there (40) in 10 months as well :)
Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Hi Christine,
Happy Birthday! And thanks for contributing to my "cool girls from children's literature" list. I'll make sure that Mandy gets added to the list this weekend. Thanks for the poetry Friday link, too. I'm so tied up with the "cool girls" thing that I'm not sure if I'll get around to poetry links... But I'm having fun. Have a great weekend!
Happy Birthday! See you on Sunday!
Thank you for adding my Poetry Friday link to your list.
