Although this poem doesn't have a particular Spring feel to it (unlike the weather outside - finally - yay!), it is an original written by my 11-year-old daughter (known here as Pippi) and I loved it - so I'm sharing it.
I am What Lurks
by K.R.M.
I am what lurks
in the shadows
on a gloomy
night.
I take
pleasure in
scaring
others.
I am what lurks
under your bed
at night
"no monsters"
they say.
I'm invisible to them.
I am what lurks
in the dark
attics at
night.
I come and go
as I please.
I am what lurks
in old forgotten
places
at night.
I do as I wish.
I do as I want.

Oooh, spooky, Pippi! Very nice!
Wow, do I love the insouciance of this monster! I wish I could do what I wished and wanted!
Scary, but loved it!
What a clear strong voice she has! Bravo!
